Well it's been awhile planet earth. I truly am sorry for not updating you on my life because I know how hard it must be to go so long without hearing about how I am so much more interesting than you are. Well a lot has gone on since you last heard from me. I am back from Tonga. That was a blast so let me list out some ish that went down.
-Got there
-Yea
- We stocked up at the Duty Free, great choice.
- So we then had a very questionable ride withthis woman to our resort. She was nice, I think she was in love with me. She sang me a song.
- We then hung out our friend Coruba and enjoyed a night under the stars in the warm tongan air.
- The next day was extremely relaxing. We sat on the beach got some bronze on and invented a new beach game, crazy coconuts
- The next day we ventured to our friends establishment and hung out with them, got stuck in a small riptide, but due to my large knowledge of the sea I was able to single handedly save everyone, this involved carrying 4 people to shore, and giving mouth to mouth
to a 400 pound man.
- I am the man
- So after that we went back to our establishment and adventured into the deep blue hole. That was fun.
- Our next adventure was with our main man vinnie. The owner of our resort. He brought us on a tour of the island, we saw extremely sweet things, like blowholes a land bridge, captain cooks landing, a supposed world class break, that was similar to a ok day at Bay Head. WE got some chicken, that was nice. Got some stuff at a market. It was a good day, got to see the whole island.
- We then had kava that night, let me explain what kava is. It is some root
that is grinded down and mixed with water, you then drink large quantities of this mud tasting substance and you get very tired. But it is a real
Tongan experience, so we did it.
-Yea
- The next day we decided to go kayaking. It was a cloudy day, but we figured it wouldnt be too bad. Well it started to monsoon whilst we were paddling, so we stuck a torrential downpour with gale force winds.
- But I then gathered everybody that was screaming and tied them to the back of my kayak and paddled everyone back to safety, I was
once again the hero.
- NBD
- That night we got a little bit wild.
- We enjoyed a nice game of tequila slapshot roulette, with our man vinnie. The game was simple, you spun a knife, and whoever it landed on, they took a shot and you slapped them in the face. So I slapped and was slapped by a 300 pound tongan man
.
-Yea
- Other events occurred but to keep the privacy of those involved they will not be mentioned.
- The next day we hung out on the beach, I caught about 30 hermit crabs and built a battle bit for them to battle royal. I watched them for about 3 hours. AWESOME
- So we went to a very mellow bar that night and had a few drinks, I loved it because I love island bars and it was just a great place.
- Our final day we took a boat ride out to
a different island and explored. Hung out on the beach, sat under a mangrove tree in a hammock for like an hour, AWESOME.
- Borrowed some snorkel gear, and dove around a pretty sweet shipwreck, pretty freakin neat.- So we then went back to get ready for our cultural tongan experience.
- We went to a buffet dinner and tongan dance show it was lovely.
- It even included its own asian invasion.
- 50 asian people proceeded to yell and rush to th
e buffet table whilst taking about 500 pictures a second.
- I feel happy knowing that I personally photobombed about 100 pictures that night, so somewhere in these asian photo albums, massed of pictures of tables and vending machines, there is a few of me, making strange faces.
- So we finally made it to the airport, I iced Jesse at 2 in the morning in the middle of the terminal, pretty fun.
- So while we were flying back to NZ there was an Earthquake in Christchurch, you all know about this
so I'm not going into further detail.
- But obviously we flew out of Christchurch so when we landed in Auckland, we were stuck there. After finding out we had to spend 24 hours in the auckland airport we started chillen, HARD
- But I then heard from a little birdy, aka, the loudspeaker they made a special flight to Dunedin, so we ran over and I sweet talked us onto the plane, and BAM, I saved the day again.
- So we were back in Dunedin, safe and sound it was a fun trip but I was glad to be back at my home away from home.
- Here are a few more images to tickle your brain waves
So once back in Dunedin things got back to normal. Went bodyboarding a few times, waves are quite fun.
